Mary Beth & Matt suggested doing their engagement photos in December when Boston is lit up and decorated for the holidays… And, even though it was pretty chilly, I think it was a great idea! We met first at the Boston Public Library, and were able to get some great shots inside and in the courtyard there as well. We then headed to the Public Garden and Commons for some more. With their big smiles and easy laughter, I think the wedding is going to be a lot of fun!

December 14, 2010therese & bruce || southern massachusetts wedding
October 27, 2010Therese and Bruce – and their family and friends – were so much fun! I love how they laughed half the time through the formal photos… I loved the guys and their sunglasses, not to mention Bruce’s too-cute niece! And Therese’s uncle performed the ceremony, which made it that much more personal and touching.

sarah & mike’s southern new hampshire wedding
September 16, 2010Ack! I’ve been neglecting the blog lately… But I have lots to blog, I’m just so busy editing! Lots more will be up in the next few weeks.
To get back to Sarah and Mike… I was looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces again, because I photographed Sarah’s sister, Jessica’s wedding, a couple of years ago. Once again their family welcomed me to document such an important occasion, and I am so grateful! Another beautiful daughter, and another great wedding. Of course Mike’s family and friends brought the fun, too… One of my favorite moments – the DJ played “We Are the World” (which was it – Sarah or Mike’s favorite song as a kid? I forget, but it was one of mine :)), and everybody got in a circle to sing it – that’s the panoramic/cobbled together image down below.

Looking for models!
August 10, 2010Jessica, from Boston-based wedding planners Alden Blair Events, and I are planning a concept/style photoshoot this September and we need models! The concept is nautical inspired and will have lots of neat details and beautiful colors… All we need is you! The only requirements are that you have wedding attire (guys don’t need a tux, just a suit will be fine), and are available on September 12th, and the 19th (backup date for bad weather). The shoot will take place along the water somewhere on the Northshore. Exact location TBD.
This is a great opportunity if your outdoor photos got rained out on your wedding day, or if you had a winter wedding with no outdoor photos, or just because it will be fun! I will be happy to do an extended photoshoot for just the two of you after the concept shoot is over that day.

July 8, 2010Congratulations to Sarah and Ryan! The day couldn’t have been more perfect for their wedding… They weren’t interested in a ton of posed photos, which made it fun for me to focus more on the photojournalistic side. A couple of my favorite moments/photos – all the girls gathering around while Sarah gets her dress on, and Sarah and Ryan’s first dance, just really sweet. And I can’t believe how much laughing there was at their ceremony – Father Joe definitely made it entertaining by inserting some personal tidbits about the couple.

kelly & cory – married! cape cod wedding photographer
June 30, 2010Forgive me for the length of this post – I had such a hard time narrowing down the shots on the beach of these two… So, I left all my favorites in!
Kelly and Cory have to be one of the nicest couples I’ve ever met. And all day long, from all the other vendors, all I heard was, “aren’t these two just the nicest people ever?” Yes, they are! The minute I arrived at Kelly’s parents house, all she could do was worry about me and was I okay. So sweet. And when I tried to get them to do a more “serious” pose on the beach (like the one with the big rock inbetween them) – they said, “we can’t NOT smile when we look at each other!”
The rain gods also smiled on us that day – unfortunately the ceremony had to be moved to the deck of the Ocean Edge Carriage House from the lawn because of rain showers coming and going. However, the rain stayed away for the length of the ceremony, and just long enough for us to go to the beach for the formals with the wedding party.

April 20, 2010Ceremony: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Boston, MA
Reception: Lake Pearl Luciano’s, Wrentham, MA
As you might notice from the photos, I was smitten with the kids at the wedding – especially Jennifer and Raul’s beautiful daughter… It helped that she definitely was not shy in front of the camera! It was wonderful to see the family come together to light the unity candle during the ceremony, and see all three of them so happy throughout the day.
