Oh my goodness! I hope this blogpost doesn’t crash your internet connection, because it is loooong… There were so many details, moments and images I wanted to share from Julie and Keith’s wedding. I can’t believe they planned the whole thing long-distance from Chicago! Very impressive. And it was so wonderful to finally meet them on the day of the wedding.

What a perfect day for an outdoor farm wedding! It was so much fun to see all the details Susan and Nate put into their wedding… They wrote their own vows, with a friend acting as officiant, Susan screenprinted the musical instruments onto the guys’ ties, another friend helped with the flowers (beautiful! and my favorite, sunflowers), and Susan wore her grandmother’s dress. Since the tablecloths were actually paper, each guest’s name was written at the appropriate seat, and there were crayons for everyone to decorate their own place setting. Neat!

Ceremony & Reception: Verrill Farm, Concord, Massachusetts

Makenzie and Jay had a very memorable wedding! Not only did their wedding day fall on the day that the remnants of Hurricane Earl blew through town, but they had so many great moments throughout… The rides to and from the Hawthorne Hotel on the Salem Trolley, a surprise visit from the couple’s cute doggie after the ceremony, taking photos in the rain at the location of their first date – Bella Verona restaurant in Salem, Jay’s brother performing for everyone, and last but not least (and a surprise to all their guests) – the Bruins’ regular national anthem singer, Rene Rancourt showed up to sing! He did both the US and Canadian national anthems, and then some classic standard songs as well.

Although we were all nervous about the rain, thankfully it held off mostly – enough for some photos on Salem Common, in and around the gazebo.

On a gorgeous, 90 degree day a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to head down to Cape Cod for some family photos with Kelly and her beautiful family and extended family! I was with them for a couple of hours, which allowed me to get lots of photos of the kids playing and being themselves, which is usually the best way to shoot for me… And lots of fun, watching them run around!

Ack! I’ve been neglecting the blog lately… But I have lots to blog, I’m just so busy editing! Lots more will be up in the next few weeks.

To get back to Sarah and Mike… I was looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces again, because I photographed Sarah’s sister, Jessica’s wedding, a couple of years ago. Once again their family welcomed me to document such an important occasion, and I am so grateful! Another beautiful daughter, and another great wedding. Of course Mike’s family and friends brought the fun, too… One of my favorite moments – the DJ played “We Are the World” (which was it – Sarah or Mike’s favorite song as a kid? I forget, but it was one of mine :)), and everybody got in a circle to sing it – that’s the panoramic/cobbled together image down below.

I’ve been so lucky to have so many fun, easy-going couples as clients, and Meghan and Dennis are certainly no exception! We were lucky with the rain that day – we almost decided not to go out to the beach for photos, but finally decided to risk it for a few minutes… I’m glad we did – I know Meghan really wanted beach shots, and I love the way they came out! I also got to drive a golf cart, which is always fun. Once we got back the party started, and I think Meghan was on the dance floor the entire night!

A personal highlight – it was Meghan’s parents’ anniversary that night – I think 35th? And the DJ played a special song to commemorate it for them – Meghan and Dennis joined them on the dance floor along with Meghan’s sisters and their husbands (photos of it are below)…

Jessica, from Boston-based wedding planners Alden Blair Events, and I are planning a concept/style photoshoot this September and we need models! The concept is nautical inspired and will have lots of neat details and beautiful colors… All we need is you! The only requirements are that you have wedding attire (guys don’t need a tux, just a suit will be fine), and are available on September 12th, and the 19th (backup date for bad weather). The shoot will take place along the water somewhere on the Northshore. Exact location TBD.

This is a great opportunity if your outdoor photos got rained out on your wedding day, or if you had a winter wedding with no outdoor photos, or just because it will be fun! I will be happy to do an extended photoshoot for just the two of you after the concept shoot is over that day.
