Here are a few photos that Tom and I took of our absolutely adorable niece a few weeks ago (these were all in our backyard)…

July 22, 2010testing out the in-studio lights…
July 20, 2010The other day I asked Tom, my husband, to help me out in testing the new studio set-up I have in our home… but someone else wanted to be in the spotlight.
Share on FacebookWell, these are two of my favorite people! When I was visiting my good friend Heidi earlier this month I was able to talk her into getting her engagement photos done. They were a little hesitant at first – neither is very comfortable in front of the camera… But they smile and laugh so easily around each other, I think they are absolutely adorable! And glad I was there during the height of the cherry blossom season… Tom and I are so looking forward to the wedding in Savannah later this year. Can’t wait!

April 14, 2010Sorry I’ve been a little light on the blogging lately… Part of that has to do with the beautiful sunny weather we’ve had in the past couple of weeks, and partly because I was down in Macon, Georgia visiting my good friend Heidi at the beginning of April (actually right around the time those flood waters started coming). She’s getting married in December (engagement photos to follow shortly) at the amazing Marshall House in Savannah, and we took a day trip there from Macon to see it and walk around and be all touristy. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend going – I am looking forward to being a tourist again in December with Tom!
So, now that I’ve caught up a bit, I’d like to share some of the photos I took there… To begin with, my lovely and sometimes silly traveling companions…

February 19, 2010Since we’ve moved, Tom and I have been pretty busy (what with our wedding, then the holidays and everything), and we haven’t gotten to go out and explore too much of our new surroundings… I wanted to remedy that a few weeks ago and take a short trek up to Portsmouth for the afternoon to look around, shoot and have lunch. It was cold, so I knew that we wouldn’t be out too long (I’m a wimp in the cold), and we stayed near the downtown/shops area. I’ve only been to Portsmouth a couple of times for weddings, but driving through it, I knew it would be a neat place to spend some time. Luckily there are all sorts of interesting shops around, because I needed a warm-up every few minutes!

Tom took this one... I'm ahead, with the camera dangling from my cold, cold hand

Me, looking for the best angle for the following shots...

Interesting to see how Tom and I take completely different shots of the same scene/area... This is my shot.

And this is Tom's.
